WEST PHOENIX, AZ – A driver of a white Kia car died after colliding with a big rig in West Phoenix on Monday, Arizona Family said.
The incident happened before 2 a.m. on 51st Avenue and Van Buren Street. Police suspect the driver of the Kia failed to stop before crashing into the back of a semi-truck.
The Kia became trapped underneath the truck, and its driver, an unidentified man, died from his injuries.
The car sustained severe damage to its driver’s side.
The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police closed the intersection to accommodate the scene-clean-up process.
A full investigation is underway.
