News: Alleged impaired driver detained after injury crash in West Phoenix 

WEST PHOENIX, AZ – A driver suspected of impairment was detained after causing a collision that left a woman in serious condition Monday.

The injury crash happened before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 27th Avenue & West Pierson Street, which is where the woman was struck, AZ Family reports.

First responders rushed the woman to a hospital where she is recovering from life-threatening injuries.

Officers shut down 27th Avenue for several hours and reopened all lanes around 7 a.m. Officials did not specify if the woman was a pedestrian or a bicyclist when she was hit.
