News: 45-year-old woman dies in Peoria intersection collision

PEORIA, AZ – A 45-year-old woman was killed in a collision at the intersection of Cactus Rd. and 79th Ave. on Saturday night.

According to FOX10, a red SUV driven by Cynthia Tapper was traveling on Cactus Rd. and ran a red light at the intersection with 79th Ave. It struck a black SUV traveling through the intersection around 9:45 p.m.

Tapper was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the SUV in the crash. She was transported to a local hospital where she passed away from her injuries.

The driver and a passenger in the black SUV sustained minor damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
