News: 2-car crash kills 1, hurts 4 on E Thomas in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A child died, and four people went to the hospital after two cars collided on a busy roadway in Phoenix on Tuesday morning, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

The incident happened just after 9 a.m. near the intersection of East Thomas Road and North 7th Street, which is just west of the Phoenix Country Club.

The investigation suggests that an eastbound car veered into the westbound lanes to avoid another eastbound vehicle. The car struck a westbound vehicle with three occupants.

Medics transported an adult and two children from the westbound vehicle to the hospital. One of the children died from injuries sustained in the crash.

One adult and one child went to the hospital from the eastbound vehicle. Both are expected to recover.

A full investigation is underway.
