News: Hit-and-run crash at Jackson and 26th kills woman

PHOENIX, AZ – A 61-year-old woman died Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck her in the roadway of a busy intersection before fleeing the scene, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened around 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of West Jackson Street and South 26th Avenue, which is just west of I-17.

The investigation thus far indicates that the woman was lying in the roadway when a dark-colored sedan struck her.

The victim, whom authorities identified as Kathleen McGuire, died at the scene of the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
