SANDERS, AZ – One child was killed and several injured in a crash involving a bus, semi, and van on EB I-40 on Saturday morning.
A bus from Holbrook Indian School was traveling on EB I-40 in order to transport students and staff on a field trip to Window Rock, New Mexico, according to 12NEWS. They report the bus slowed for traffic when a semi rear-ended it around 9:25 a.m. The impact pushed the bus into a van traveling ahead of it.
There were 19 occupants on the bus. One child was killed, but it is unclear if he or she died at the crash scene or later in the hospital. DPS reports four other people on the bus were injured in the crash but the school officials say six others were injured.
