PEORIA, AZ – A driver struck and killed an 8-year-old boy near N 125th Ln and Ridgeline Rd on Feb. 1, according to CBS 5.
The boy exited a blue sedan as it was still traveling down the road and was hit by that vehicle around 3 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the boy to an area hospital, where he died.
Following the collision, the driver stayed at the scene.
Authorities do not believe speed played a role in the crash. They are investigating whether or not impairment was a factor.
