News: Heavy rain, flooding on US 60 in Gilbert leaves several drivers stuck

GILBERT, AZ – Heavy flooding and rain on the US 60 left several drivers stuck along Val Vista and Gilbert Road Wednesday night.

According to Arizona’s Family, at around 9:30 pm, a tow truck helped get one of the cars out. Police officers were there to make sure no one got harmed. No injuries were reported.

Due to the significance of the flooding and heaving rain, the eastbound lanes on the freeway going to Gilbert Road had to close. In addition, the westbound lanes at Val Vista Drive were closed, and the Greenfield Road and Stapley Drive on-ramps were, too.

The US 60 reopened after midnight on Thursday.
