News: Wrong-way driver fatally collides with another vehicle near Cesar Chavez Park

PHOENIX, AZ – A wrong-way driver died after colliding with another vehicle on 35th Ave near Baseline Rd on September 2, according to AZ Family.

Aaliyah Renee Gil, 20, was heading north on 35th Ave when she strayed into the southbound lanes of traffic and collided with another vehicle.

Rescue crews pronounced Gil dead at the scene and transported two other people to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe impairment played a role in the incident.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the crash.
