WHITTMAN, AZ – One person a killed and two others were injured following a wrong-way crash involving a semi-truck near Whittmann on Friday.
According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the crash happened when the driver of a Dodge Ram heading west in the eastbound lanes of the freeway at about 2:30 a.m. The Dodge then slammed head-on into an oncoming semi-truck.
The Dodge’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in their vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
Investigators believe impairment was a factor in the deadly crash.
