MESA, AZ – Two 18-year-old women were killed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash in Mesa over the weekend, ABC15 said.
The collision happened before 1 a.m. on Sunday in the area of North Center Street and Inglewood Street during heavy rain. The two 18-year-old women were crossing North Center Street and were struck by a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle stayed at the scene and alerted oncoming drivers. During that time, a second vehicle, as well as a reported third vehicle, were said to have hit one of the young women.
The impact led to one of the young ladies succumbing to their injuries at the scene, while the other was taken to a hospital where she later died.
All the involved drivers stayed at the scene.
Police do not believe speed or impairment were contributing factors in the crash. Police believe the third vehicle was a dark colored sedan.
