GILBERT, AZ – A woman and her unborn baby died as a result of a collision involving a large work truck on Thursday.
According to AZFamily, the incident unfolded before 3 p.m. when a large work truck failed to stop for traffic and crashed into the back of four vehicles.
The impact of the collision caused one vehicle to go off the freeway and down an embankment. The driver of that vehicle, a pregnant woman, and her unborn child died.
Authorities closed the area for several hours before lifting lane closures.
