PHOENIX, AZ – A woman and her dog lost their lives after a hit-and-run collision that happened around 1 a.m. Friday, AZ Family reports.
Preliminary details show this hit-and-run collision happened in the area of 51st Avenue and Elwood Street, where the dog was first hit. After the dog was struck by one vehicle, the woman was then hit by another vehicle. The woman, identified as Brittany Gieb, and her dog died from their injuries at the scene.
One of the vehicles involved was a Toyota Tacoma vehicle.
Crews shut down the area to clean up the debris from the collision.
Officers are working to determine the exact cause of the crash and have added additional details at this time.
