News: Woman, 21, charged with DUI after West Phoenix crash

WEST PHOENIX, AZ – A 21-year-old woman was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on DUI after a four-vehicle crash on Thursday.

This comes as an update in connection with our previous reporting. Police told KTAR that they identified the 21-year-old woman as Briyanna Nicole Paz.

New information reveals Paz had reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic, which led to a four-vehicle collision.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, and arrived at the scene around 3:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, police said they discovered Paz had several open containers of alcohol in her vehicle and also smelled alcohol on her breath. They conducted a field sobriety test on her before arresting and booking her into jail.

Several people were injured and treated on the scene by Phoenix Fire/EMS, and one man was sent to a hospital for treatment.
