News: Vehicle strikes, kills female pedestrian in NW Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 30-year-old female pedestrian died overnight when a vehicle struck her at a busy intersection in northwest Phoenix, reports 12 News.

The incident happened around midnight near the intersection of North 35th Avenue and Indian School Road, which is just south of Cielito Park.

The preliminary investigation indicates that an eastbound driver struck the pedestrian near the intersection.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle identified herself by phone to authorities. They do not suspect her of impairment at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
