News Update: Victim identified in deadly west Phoenix pedestrian accident

PHOENIX, AZ – Police say the woman who was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in west Phoenix on Tuesday morning has died.

According to a report by KTVK, 37-year-old Stephanie Spooner was struck by a dark-colored SUV in the area of 51st Avenue and Camelback Road at about 4 a.m.

Spooner was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries some time later on.

Witnesses to the crash told police the driver of the SUV stopped and turned on their hazard lights before speeding away from the scene.
