WEST CHANDLER, AZ – An 8-year-old girl, who was initially in serious condition, later died from her injuries after a 4-car crash on Loop 202 Thursday.
According to new details from AZFamily, another person, along with the girl, was also entrapped or pinned inside a vehicle and required extrication from fire crews.
Once the extrication was complete, EMS crews rushed the girl to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
It’s unclear if the other extricated person was injured.
Crews shut down the west and eastbound lanes for several hours to accommodate the scene clearance process. All lanes have since reopened.
