News: Unborn baby dies following hit-and-run collision near Turtle Rock Basin

PHOENIX, AZ – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed an unborn baby near E Grovers Ave and N 9th St on Mar. 19, according to FOX 10.

Leslie Ann Yeager, 39, was heading east on E Grovers Ave when she collided with a westbound vehicle turning left on 9th St around 10:24 p.m.

Rescue crews transported the driver of the struck vehicle and their pregnant passenger to an area hospital. The pregnant passenger was hospitalized in critical condition, and her unborn baby died at the hospital.

Yeager fled the scene of the accident and parked her car at a convenience store.

Authorities located Yeager and arrested her. Yeager allegedly struck an officer while she was arrested.

Police charged Yeager with manslaughter involving an unborn child, endangerment, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and aggravated assault of a police officer.
