BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ – A truck driver suffered minor burns after the cab of his vehicle caught fire, leading to the closure of I-17’s northbound lanes near Sunset Point earlier this morning.
Footage from an Arizona Department of Transportation camera shows flames licking the truck’s cab as of 9:37 a.m. this morning.
AZFamily reports that firefighters were able to knock down the flames within a few minutes of their arrival. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is unsure about what started the fire.

The main travel lanes remained closed as of about 10 .m. ADOT advised drivers to use the flex lanes as needed.
