PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, the Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly multi-vehicle collision that happened on I-17 NB near W Northern Ave on Sunday.
Troopers were investigating a possible DUI driver who was pulled over. Two cars collided in the traffic that was backed up.
Another driver was driving at high speeds when they slammed into two vehicles that were stopped on the freeway. One driver died in the collision. Another adult and a minor suffered life-threatening injuries.
Authorities believe the driver who crashed into the two vehicles was impaired. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office will work with detectives to determine what charges the driver will face.
