News: Trooper hurt while trying to avoid being struck by driver on I-40 in Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – According to AZFamily, a trooper was hurt while trying to avoid being run over by a driver on I-40 WB near S Lone Tree Rd on Thursday.

DPS Troopers were investigating a wreck on I-40 around 9 p.m. when the driver crashed into a fire department and an Arizona Department of Public Safety vehicle. The vehicles were not occupied during the wreck.

The trooper was hurt while attempting to get away from the driver.

It is unclear if the driver was impaired.

Emergency crews closed the freeway for several hours to process the scene. It was reopened around 2:30 a.m.
