PHOENIX, AZ – A 16-year-old male driver died following a two-vehicle collision near 40th St and Baseline Rd on Saturday, according to CBS 5.
The 16-year-old was driving west on Baseline Rd when they ran a stop light and collided with another vehicle before slamming into a light pole. His vehicle then burst into flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire. Rescue crews pronounced the 16-year-old dead at the scene.
The two occupants of the car the 16-year-old struck are expected to be okay.
Authorities believe speed was a factor in the wreck.
