News: Teen driver collides with pedestrian in stolen car near Brandywine

PHOENIX, AZ – A teen driving a stolen car hit and injured a pedestrian near 37th Ave and Aire Libre Ave on September 7, according to AZ Family.

The driver of a stolen Kia Optima collided with a 71-year-old man before crashing into other vehicles and a home around 6 a.m. The driver and their two teen passengers then fled the scene on foot.

Rescue crews transported the pedestrian to an area hospital in critical condition.

School resource officers from Greenway High School examined surveillance footage of the incident and helped identify the students.

Authorities arrested the driver and released the two passengers to their parents. Charges are being submitted.
