News: Suspect sought in West Phoenix hit-and-run that killed 1, injured 2

PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix Police are on the hunt for a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and injured two others on Saturday.

Phoenix Police told AZFamily that the events unfolded around 1:45 a.m. off the intersection of North 61st Avenue and West Indian School Road. There, a driver of a two-door sedan crashed into an SUV. Police believe one of the vehicles veered across several lanes of traffic before colliding with another vehicle and then fleeing the scene.

EMS crews transported the 18-year-old man and two occupants from the second vehicle, a man and a woman, to a hospital. There, the 18-year-old man died from his injuries.

First responders have since identified the decedent as 18-year-old Marc Anthony Velazquez Serrano.

The two surviving occupants are recovering from serious injuries and are expected to recover.
