News: Speeding driver accused of fatal & injury chain-reaction crash in Scottsdale 

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A speeding driver was said to have caused a chain-reaction crash that claimed the life of one person and injured several others on Tuesday.

According to ArizonaFamily, the incident unfolded around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard and involved five vehicles.

Scottsdale Police said a driver traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into the back of a vehicle stopped at a traffic light, which led to a multi-vehicle, chain-reaction crash.

EMS crews hurried multiple people to a hospital. There, one person, who was initially left with life-threatening injuries, died. Three are recovering from serious, life-threatening injuries, and another from unspecified injuries.

Police shut down the area for several hours before reopening it at 11:30 p.m.

A full investigation is underway.
