News: Police officer airlifted in 2-car crash in Chino Valley

CHINO VALLEY, AZ – Medics flew a Chino Valley Police Officer to the hospital after his vehicle collided with another car along the highway on Tuesday, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened just before 8 a.m. on State Road 89 between Center Street and Road 2 North, which is just north of Chino Valley High School.

The full circumstances of the crash are unknown, but authorities say the police officer rear-ended a Jeep that had slowed in traffic.

The police officer was airlifted to a local hospital but has since been released in stable condition.

The driver of the Jeep suffered only minor injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
