News: Police investigate fatal multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash near Papago Vista

PHOENIX, AZ – According to 12 News, authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that left one man dead and five injured near 34th St and McDowell Rd Friday.

A driver collided with five vehicles, including a police car, around 10 p.m. One of the five vehicles caught on fire after the collision.

Rescue crews transported the two police officers inside the patrol car, two boys, and an adult male to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They also pronounced Anthony Salgado Roman, 18, dead at the scene of the accident.

The suspect fled the area on foot after the wreck. Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the suspect to contact them.
