AVONDALE, AZ – According to 12 News, the Avondale Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred near N Dysart Rd and W Thomas Rd on Sunday.
A driver was heading north when they ran a red light and hit a vehicle making a left turn around 12:30 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced one passenger from the car that ran the red light dead at the scene. Another passenger from that vehicle was taken to an area hospital, where they died.
First responders transported the driver and a passenger from the vehicle that was struck to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities arrested the driver who ran a red light and charged them with aggravated assault, DUI, and manslaughter.
