PHOENIX, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened near 7th St and McDowell Rd on Sunday, according to 12 News.
A driver was heading north on 7th St when they collided with Magellan Rutaneahwa, 49, as he crossed the road around 7:30 p.m.
Rescue crews transported Rutaneahwa to an area hospital, where he died.
Authorities believe speed played a role in the incident. They urge anyone with information regarding the crash to contact them.
