PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZ Family, authorities arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured a police officer near N 40th St and E Oak St on March 15.
Marlon De Jesus Hernandez, 21, ran a red light and collided with a police car around 12:30 a.m.
Emergency responders extricated the officer from the vehicle and transported him to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Following the collision, Hernandez and two other people inside the vehicle fled the area on foot. Authorities located Hernandez and transported him to an area hospital with minor injuries before arresting him.
