News: Passenger killed in 2-car rollover in central Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 32-year-old woman died Wednesday night  after a collision involving two vehicles on a busy roadway in central Phoenix, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of South 7th Avenue and West Grant Street, which is just northeast of Matthew Henson Park.

The investigation indicates that the victim was a passenger in a southbound pickup truck that overturned after it was struck by a sedan on South 7th Avenue. The force of the collision threw the victim from the truck, and she died after transport to a local hospital.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene. Authorities found her in the area a short time later.

The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot, and police have not been able to find that person.

Authorities believe that impairment may have been a factor in the accident. A full investigation is underway.
