News: One life claimed in North Phoenix chain-reaction collision 

NORTH PHOENIX, AZ – One person lost their life to a chain-reaction collision that occurred on I-17 North in the Anthem area on Friday.

The multi-vehicle crash took place around 9 a.m. near Daisy Mountain Road and involved four vehicles, including a truck hauling a trailer, KTAR reports.

EMS crews were dispatched to the scene and transported one person to a hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Authorities shut down I-17 North for a couple of hours and reopened the area around 11:30 a.m.

The Arizona Department of Transportation started an investigation and has not released other details at this time, including the victim’s name.
