GILBERT, AZ – Officials have released the name of the man who was killed in a wreck on Loop 202 Santan near Gilbert Rd on Friday, according to AZFamily.
A 19-year-old man was driving a white Infiniti sedan west on Loop 202 Santan when he slammed into a barrier wall around 10:30 p.m. Police believe he was impaired.
Following the first crash, two passengers exited the sedan and were hit by a silver Ford SUV.
First responders pronounced one of the two people who was struck, Caleb O’Neal Scott, dead at the scene and transported the other passenger to an area hospital with serious injuries. The Infiniti driver sustained minor injuries. The Ford SUV driver was not hurt.
Authorities say charges are pending for the Infiniti driver. The Ford SUV driver is not facing charges.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
