News: Multi-vehicle crash kills 2 teens in Pinal Co.

COOLIDGE, AZ – Two teenagers died Monday afternoon in a head-on collision with a truck near an intersection in Coolidge, reports 12News.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 87 and Baptist Church Road, just west of Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.

The investigation suggests that a female driver veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a moving truck. At that time, a second truck collided with the rear of the first truck.

The two teen occupants of the first vehicle died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the first vehicle went to the hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.

The truck occupants sustained mild injuries, and it is unclear if they sought medical treatment.

A full investigation of the accident is underway.
