PHOENIX, AZ – A 19-year-old wrong-way driver died, and four other people went to the hospital after four cars collided at a Phoenix intersection on Sunday, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.
Police say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of North 75th Avenue and Camelback Road, which is just southeast of Glendale Heroes Regional Park.
The investigation thus far indicates that a northbound driver veered into the southbound lanes of 75th Avenue and collided with three southbound vehicles.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Jose Luis Palma Molina, died at the scene of the accident.
Three people from the crash sustained non-critical injuries and are expected to recover.
One person suffered critical injuries but will likely survive.
