News: Motorcyclist dies following multi-vehicle crash near La Casa Rica

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – According to AZ Family, two drivers fatally collided with a motorcyclist on AZ 101 Lp near McDonald Dr on Monday.

A 22-year-old woman driving a Jeep Patriot sideswiped a motorcycle operated by Sammy Eugene Shepherd, 56, around 3 a.m. A Hyundai Elantra driver then hit Shepherd.

Rescue crews pronounced Shepherd dead at the scene and transported the Patriot driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the woman for DUI.
