PHOENIX, AZ – A 47-year-old man died from injuries he sustained when a train struck him at an intersection in northwest Phoenix on Monday morning, reports Arizona’s Family 3 TV.
Police say the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on the train tracks near the intersection of North 27th Avenue and Thomas Road, which is just west of the Arizona Veterans Highway.
The initial investigation suggests the victim, identified as Victor Gonzalez, may have intentionally placed himself in the path of the train. Medics transported Gonzalez to the hospital, where he died several hours later.
A full investigation is underway.
