PHOENIX, AZ – A 60-year-old male pedestrian lost his life after a fatal collision that happened on I-10 East last Tuesday, AZ Family reports.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety revealed that the man was standing either on the interstate shoulder or traffic lanes when he was struck by several vehicles around 5 a.m. This crash took place near Washington Street, and officials said they found the man’s remains on site.
Law enforcement believes some drivers did not remain at the scene and are working to determine what the hit-and-run suspects and their vehicles looked like.
Officials later identified the man as Lindbert Johnson, who they believed was experiencing homelessness.
DPS and crews blocked all eastbound left lanes and one HOV lane to accommodate the clean-up process and investigation.
Anyone with more information about the crash is asked to contact authorities at the phone number listed in the source.
