News: Impairment suspected in crash that damaged Phoenix home, police say

PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix Police believe impairment was a major factor behind a crash that damaged a Phoenix home on Wednesday.

Police told AZFamily that the driver, who operated a white pickup truck, plowed into a home located off West Tonto Street and South 13th Avenue. The incident happened around 5 a.m.

Police handcuffed the driver, who they believe was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, when they crashed into the home.

It’s unclear if the driver was injured, but they were transported to a hospital out of precaution. Charges will be determined once the investigation is completed.

Police confirmed a family was inside the home at the time of the crash. They were upstairs sleeping at the time of the collision and were spared from injuries.

No roads were closed.
