News: 1 life claimed, 2 hurt in head-on collision in Maricopa 

MARICOPA, AZ – One person lost their life, and two others were injured in a head-on collision in Maricopa on Tuesday, according to 12News

The crash happened around 10 a.m. The incident unfolded when a 21-year-old woman driving a Nissan Exterra, traveling east, drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Honda CRV. 

EMS crews rushed the 21-year-old woman, her passenger, a 20-year-old woman, and the Honda driver, a 38-year-old woman, to a hospital. There, the 38-year-old woman died. 

The women in their 20s survived. First responders said the 20-year-old woman was listed in critical condition, while the 21-year-old woman is in stable condition. 

Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Unit (VCU)l County Vehicular Crimes Unit (VCU) believes impairment may have been a contributing factor in the collision. 

No arrests were reported.
