News: Hit-and-run driver sentenced for death of boy in Goodyear

GOODYEAR, AZ -According to 12 News, a driver who allegedly fled the scene after fatally colliding with a 13-year-old boy riding a bike near S 182nd Dr and S San Gabriel Dr on April 25 was sentenced to prison Wednesday.

Richard Romo Jr., 45, was driving a white Ford pickup truck when he hit the boy as he was riding his bike home from school around 2:45 p.m

Authorities located Romo at a residence in the area where the crash occurred and arrested him.

Romo pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of the fatal wreck and was sentenced to 8.75 years in prison.
