News: Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with teen on US 60 in Apache Junction

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – A driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a teen on US 60 near Meridian Rd Sunday turned himself in to the police Monday, according to AZ Family.

Robert Moyer, 45, was allegedly driving a Ford F350 east on US 60 when he began swerving from lane to lane. He swerved into the emergency lane and struck a 16-year-old girl around 7:40 a.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the girl dead at the scene.

Moyer turned himself over to the police around 8 a.m. Monday.

Troopers arrested Moyer and charged him with one count of hit-and-run with death.
