News: Dump truck strikes, critically hurts Tolleson woman

TOLLESON, AZ – A 75-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries when a dump truck struck her at an intersection in Tolleson on Monday morning, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the area of I-10 and North 91st Avenue.

The investigation thus far indicates that a dump truck failed to stop for a stop sign and struck an elderly woman as she crossed the street with with a three-year-old child.

The child was unhurt, but medics transported the woman to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities speculate that impairment may have been a factor for the driver.
