News: DUI driver collides with officer’s vehicle in Wickenburg

WICKENBURG, AZ – An alleged impaired driver was fleeing from police when he collided with an officer’s vehicle around on Sunday, according to AZFamily.

Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Cadillac SUV driven by Jheovanny Penuelas Fernandez for speeding around 1 a.m. Fernandez refused to pull over and sped off.

Fernandez collided with an officer’s vehicle head-on while driving through neighborhoods. Fernandez was not hurt in the collision. The officer suffered minor injuries.

Authorities tested Fernandez’s blood and found he had a BAC of .133%. Officers charged Fernandez with DUI, aggravated assault, endangerment, unlawful flight, criminal speed, and reckless driving.
