PHOENIX, AZ – A 38-year-old male pedestrian died Thursday night when a vehicle struck him at an intersection in northeast Phoenix, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 27th Street and Thomas Road, which is just east of AZ-51.
Authorities identified the victim as Barry Casias. He died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle remained on site to speak with police.
It’s still unclear how the crash happened, but authorities say impairment was likely a factor.
A full investigation is underway.
