News: Driver hits, injures police officer near Miracle Manor

TUCSON, AZ – An officer who was responding to a hit-and-run accident at Glenn St and N Stone Ave was hit by another driver on Feb. 9, according to AZ Family.

Edward Esquibel Jr., 42, allegedly struck the unidentified officer around 1:30 a.m.

Rescue crews transported the officer to an area hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. They have since had his lower leg amputated.

Authorities have arrested and charged Esquibel Jr. with felony endangerment, felony criminal damage, and aggravated assault.
