PHOENIX, AZ – A driver struck and killed a man near N 24th St and E McDowell Rd on Sunday, according to 12 News.
The driver hit Jose Aranda Chavarria, 41, as Chavarria crossed N 24th St near McDowell Rd outside a marked crosswalk around 7:30 p.m.
Rescue crews transported Chavarria to an area hospital, where he died.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene. Authorities do not believe he was impaired.
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident.
