MESA, AZ – According to 12 News, the Mesa Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Superstition Springs Blvd near E Baseline Rd on Saturday.
A woman was driving erratically and swerving from left to right multiple times before she took a hard left turn, crossed three lanes of traffic, and collided with a palm tree.
Rescue crews pronounced the woman’s male passenger dead at the scene. They extricated the woman from the vehicle and transported her to an area hospital in critical condition.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision.
Officials have not released the victims’s names.
