News: Driver fatally collides with another vehicle near Desert View Village

PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, a driver fatally collided with another vehicle near N 56th St and E Pinnacle Peak Rd on Friday.

A 19-year-old woman was driving a Fiat west on Pinnacle Peak Rd when she strayed off the road and hit some bushes and trees before returning to the road and hitting a Toyota Corolla around 8:45 p.m. The two vehicles then caught on fire.

Firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames.

Rescue crews transported the Fiat driver and four people from the Corolla to area hospitals. One person from the Corolla, Juliene Aumani, 53, died from her injuries. The Corolla driver was not hurt in the collision.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident and working to determine whether the Fiat driver was impaired.
