News: Driver dies following fiery crash on Stapley Dr in Mesa

MESA, AZ – According to AZFamily, a driver died following a fiery crash on Stapley Dr between Brown Rd and McKellips Rd on Friday.

Roy Valdez, 34, was driving when he hit a curb on Stapley Dr before slamming into a power pole, bus stop, and house around 5:30 a.m.

Valdez was freed from the vehicle before it caught on fire. Witnesses and first responders performed life-saving measures on Valdez. Rescue crews transported Valdez to an area hospital, where he died.

The Mesa Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
